Which Electrician - Woodinville WA - For Circuit Problems?
If you live in the Woodinville area and your home just got hit with a circuit problem, all you need is a quick visit from me. I am Larry, The Circuit Detective. I've been troubleshooting home circuit problems in 98072 for years. The only thing between my house in Carnation and yours, is Duvall! I remember (as a Seattle kid) passing through Woodinville and Duvall to go skiing at Stevens Pass. There was no Hwy 522 then. Imagine.
I love this electrical diagnosis and repair work and have become rather efficient at it. Since I work on my own, I don't have to please anyone but my customers. I am licensed and bonded. For details about my work see Eastside electrician. For more about me see About me.
How Much Do I Cost?
Remember, these days I just fix or replace, not add. So my average job is under $100. If I had to give you a "firm price", like many electrical contractors do, I'd be tempted to cover the worst case with a high price that helps pay for all the people who don't bite that hook. Instead, I charge $40 to come to Woodinville (or $30 in the 98077 ZIP) plus $1.00 per minute while I am working on the circuit problem. People wonder why I charge by the minute, as if that were a bad thing. I say, since my average job takes about 40 minutes, would you prefer that I round to the next full hour?
Availability of Detective Larry
I schedule most jobs for Mon-Fri 9am-4pm. But I am available by phone Mon-Sat 7am-9pm. Woodinville should call me at 425-333-4400.
Are You a Do-It-Yourselfer?
Many problems don't need an electrician, Woodinville, just some knowledge or advice. I can help you with that too. If my Electrical troubleshooting website can't help, ask me specifically to coach you on your troublesome circuit. It costs the same but without the charge for a trip. So you don't have to think of me as an electrical contractor. I am also a consultant, I suppose.
Some Circuit Stories from Woodinville
True Detective Story from 98072. At a house above Woodinville High School, Jonathan had been too confident in his electrical abilities. He was replacing all his switches and receptacles. After he was all done and put power back on, one switch turned everything in the next room off. Another couldn't turn its light off. And some other rooms were just dead. He wasn't distressed; calling me in was just part of the process. I did find and correct 7 places he had hooked wires up wrong. Once I had seen how he dealt with the hookups at one or two, I found the rest without too much fuss. He was consistent. And he wasn't embarrassed. Some people get very embarrassed. I don't care if a customer is embarrassed or not. I was comfortable with the $101 it took. I think Jonathan was too. I'm happy to be an electrician Woodinville WA can rely on for this sort of thing.
True Detective Story from 98077. In a Bear Creek neighborhood, Richard's GFI (outlet with red and black buttons) was tripping. Something was going on out there on his underground lines to the postlights out front. Normally the thrill of the chase would have me tracing those lines with a tester and maybe digging a hole or two in the ground. In this case though, I said to myself, why is this line being GFI protected? If there were any receptacles out there in the yard on this line, code would call for the shock protection. But not if it is only lights, and it was. I still considered whether the tripping was an indication of a full-blown short happening in the future. That bridge could be crossed later. I gave the line straight power. It didn't short. Richard had his lights back. In some of these neighborhoods, it is part of the covenant to keep your postlights running. I explained to Richard that the GFI could have been responding to something of no importance, but to let me know if anything funny developed. He was good with that. He was also good with the $57.45.
